The proposed project will target a total of 2,500 vulnerable hard to reach community including women, children, old ages, and marginalized groups through a wide range of interrelated interventions in 5- Villages/Kebeles of Gode woreda/district, Shebelle zone of Somali region. These include: 1) Short term water trucking to 2,500 vulnerable communities based 5 target village/Kebeles in Gode woreda/district. 2)Provision of Food supply to 6 Kebeles with each most vulnerable 1,500 HHs (IDPs & HOST)
In Gode woreda food insecurities compound the multiple challenges Somali women face, making them among the most vulnerable indicate that with an increase in food prices, women are often forced to skip meals for the sake of their children and other family members, thus affecting their nutritional status, and for pregnant women, that of their unborn children. This has led to a significant increase in death among pregnant women and low birth weight of children.

A strategy will be in place for on-the-ground activities in 5 village level to immediately resolve poor HHs for; Food Aid: - Food assistance to families affected by ongoing episode will be immediately resolved allowing recovering their livelihoods in the future. Water Access at the household will be immediately solved allowing recovering their livelihoods in the future. The project will respond to the critical emergency needs of water supply tracking, food & nutrition among the communities
