Wow, can’t believe 2015 is almost over - just a few more days before we ring in the New Year. I am sure that you are checking off your “To Do” lists; making sure you have everything for that holiday meal, decorating the house, purchasing those last minute gifts – and maybe even thinking about making your year-end donations.
HEAT Oregon is busy too, processing many gifts from caring donors to help people stay warm in their homes. Did you know it takes just $25.00 to heat a home for one week?
Global Giving donors have stepped up to the plate for several years now to help neighbors in their communities stay warm in their homes. To date thus far, there has been over 246 weeks of heat given to people in need by Global Giving donors. We appreciate every donor and the funds raised go to help people who are struggling to keep their heat on. Thank you!
Consider this family: “My husband and I both lost our jobs and were unable to pay our bills. We had one child, another due, and winter was on its way. Assistance helped us stop a shut off. We are able to get caught up on bills and concentrate on other things we needed. We wish we didn’t need it, but are glad HEAT Oregon was there. “
Many families and individuals like this one are grateful that donors are giving to HEAT Oregon to help them in times of need. We know that Global Giving donors want to help too.
So as you are checking your lists and then checking them twice…HEAT Oregon hopes that you will find the time to help someone in need of heat in their home and donate today.
