Summary

Close on the heels of reports that India accounts for half of the world's 30 million slaves, comes further reports which state that Delhi has become a "hub" for the Indian human trafficking trade. This funds will support the project release, resettlement of girls, victims of human trafficking sold for forced prostitution in Delhi. Challenge

Yearly between 6000-7000 Nepali , Bangldeshi girls are trafficked into the red light districts in Delhi. Last year In-WCD report 6186 girls/women come in Delhi by trafficked. Most of the girls are 11 or 33 years old and illiterate and not read the hindi or local language. Over 45, 000 Nepali , Bangladeshi women & girls are already in Delhi GB Road brothel, locked up for years, starved, beaten, burned with cigarettes and mass raped until they learn to service to 15-20 clients a day.

Solution

Optimist Organization's works for release by decreasing the period of exploitation, torture and violence on children and girls being trafficked into sex trade. The project will work to proper women trafficked complaints related investigation and case monitoring, incrimination and conviction of various actors involved in the trafficking and exploitation, tools for livelihood, education of the girl/women.

Long-Term Impact

The impact is that the unhappy, innocent, underprivileged children and young girls, who have become victims of human trafficking and forced to practice sex trade, are rescued from the atrocities of torture and reintegrated in respectable society. Optimist Organization target is rescue 1000 girls in first year.
