Orphan and vulnerable children who have either lost one or both parents live in extreme poverty with their guardians with little access to basic needs. Shalom Yebego Aderagot Derejet Capacity building, Care and Support of poorest women, orphan and vulnerable children project covers children's school fees, tutorial lessons, after school meals, school uniforms and materials. Children receive after school meals and tutorial lessons at our drop in center with a library and other services.
Across Ethiopia there are thousands of children living on the streets who everyday suffer hunger, violence, poverty and abuse. These children who have lost one or both parents, mostly due to HIV/AIDS, live in extreme poverty with their guardians, are highly vulnerable and have no access to basic needs. After losing one or both of their parents, most of these children are forced to drop out of school to support themselves, their single parents or their guardians who are usually their elder grandp
The project supports orphan and vulnerable children to stay in school and succeed by covering their school fees, providing them with food, medicine, clothing, school bags, uniforms & hygiene materials. The project also delivers quality education by providing the children additional tutorial lessons after school. The children have access to healthy after school meals so they remain energized and focused on their studies at our drop in center and return each child to a safe and caring family Env.
SYAD works to create sustainable environments where children who are most at risk in the community can thrive and create a bright future for themselves through quality education and holistic care. The 25 children supported through this project will be able to succeed in their education and go on to support themselves and their guardians in the future. With your support, this project will make a sustainable impact in enabling the children to overcome poverty and transform their lives.
