The recent Ockhi disaster disturbed the Tribal villages heavily and damaged their belongings. Due to that, the children are highly disturbed. 250 most affected children from 1st to 12th Std will be provided special education through 14 evening centers. This project will make the change in the lives of Tribal children by providing good opportunities for education, skill development and enhancement of leadership qualities. School dropout ratio will be reduced among the tribal children.
"Kani" Tribes are the original habitation of Peachpari hills of Western Ghats of south India. Villages are scattered in the hills. No proper transport facilities. 3000 families are living in 69 hamlets. Children are facing various problems: Lack of education, awareness and exposure to the parents. Schools are faraway and lack of transport facilities. School dropout ratio is high and having more number of child labor. Lack of communication skill & no life skill activity & learning opportunity.
Evening tuition will be conducted in 10 areas and proper counseling also provided to the children. Note books and education materials also provided to them. Evening snakes provided to the children before starting the tuition and it will encourage the children to attend the tuition regularly. These activities will reduce the School dropouts and make them continue their education. Through this activities children aware of various life skills, communication, personality development, etc.
Reduce dropout ratio. Children obtain higher marks. Improve the education level of children. Children will get leadership capacity. More dynamic on their activities and will have more exposure. Parents are aware about their role and their participation increased.
