Children  Ghana Project #31826

Educational Aid for Disadvantaged Children - Ghana

by SAPH Vision Quest Association Inc. (t/a New Beginnings)

The first priority in improving the lives of African Children is a basic knowledge of English. This project will provide up to 50 libraries of books and computers to schools in remote regions of Ghana Africa.

Currently the state of resourcing in most Ghanaian schools is quite pitiful. With substantial budgetary constraints already in the education sector, groups of students share tattered old text books, they sit squashed at cracked, broken desks, have limited access to toilets or fresh water and have very few resources to make their educational experience enjoyable. The very first step is to provide them with basic educational resources (Books and Computers).

A Basic Education is fundamental to solving poverty in remote regions of underdeveloped African countries such as Ghana which has one of the lowest GDP's in the nation.

Long-Term Impact

This project will have a positive impact on up to 8,500 (girls and boys) in remote regions of Ghana Africa. We have already seen the benefit through the educational supplies provided as the initial part of our Ghana Project. Educational standards in the affected areas have risen. Above all, it has given participating schools, teachers, students and parents new hope for a brighter future.
