60% of children in South Africa live in poverty and 19% are orphans. Children living in poverty only have access to basic education and underfunded schools that do not give them the chance to become independent and successful adults. Poverty and lack of education also makes them more susceptible to acquiring diseases like AIDS and TB. Providing disadvantaged children access to good quality education is therefore essential for a more equal and just world.
This project gives 50 orphaned children in South Africa the ability to attend good quality, local schools which have a proven record of achievement, by covering school fees, uniforms, stationary, tutoring and career support.
The long term impact is that 50 children will be able to provide better lives for their own future families who in turn can better provide for their own families. Thus, each donation will greatly benefit future generations in a positive cycle.
