Lillian at Karibuni eco cottages
On behalf of the girls in Ndhiwa and Team Kenya, I would like to pass on my sincere gratitude for your support to this project. The donations you have made so far have gone a long way in creating a big difference to vulnerable adolescent girls in Ndhiwa; most specifically to the disadvantaged teenage mothers who had to drop out of school due to unwanted pregnancies and/or early marriages. Your kind gesture could not have come at a better time!
The donations made from the Global Giving Girl Effect Challenge have gone a long way in supporting some vulnerable teenagers involved in the Vocational Training Program. Two sewing machines have been purchased to boost the sewing project. Cotton rolls have been purchased to make more cotton reusable sanitary towels (Padi Bora).
Padi Bora will help keep the girls in school, giving them an opportunity to acquire education. The padi bora will also reduce the vulnerability of teenage girls to pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infections by reducing their dependence on survival sex. Sewing materials have also been bought to facilitate the training of girls out of school in sewing skills. The girls are also being trained on business tailoring; a skill that will give the opportunity to gain financial security in future hence improving their living standards.
Among the girls who have and will greatly benefit from the donations made from the Global Giving Girl Effect is Lilian. She is a 16 year old teenager mother who is also six months pregnant at the moment. Lilian has been able to get psycho-social and economic support. Thanks to you, Lilian can now smile again .Team Kenya and the girls could not thank you enough. May God bless you as you continue blessing the girls in Ndhiwa.
You have restored hope into the life of a girl in Ndhiwa!
