Thamani Youth of Africa has partnered with Hatua Likoni to support them in their quest to empower Kenyan youths through education, mentorship & employment!Let's prepare youths to thrive in Kenya's workforce by helping to provide eight scholarships for secondary and university education, mentoring and career guidance for Likoni's top students, in order for them to gain the skills, credentials and networks they need to contribute to and benefit from Kenya's growing economy.
Worldwide one in three youth do not have the opportunity to continue their education past primary school. As a result many end up trapped in a cycle of poverty that deprives them of life's most basic needs. In Kenya, even low income youth who do complete their education often lack connections that can help them take their first step into a professional career. Hatua works on the Coast of Kenya to address these challenges by building a network of opportunity for high potential , low income youth.
In order for youths to excel they need quality education throughout primary, secondary, and university schooling. They need resume building experiences while in school and connections to a professional networks to help them find career opportunities after graduation. By supporting this initiative, you will help provide youths with these essential opportunities. High potential youths are identified who would otherwise drop out of school after 8th grade. These young people are awarded scholarships
100% of Hatua's 2016 alumni are now working or engaged in internships after graduating from university! With your support this high level of impact will continue.Impact is measured through employment rates and increased income of beneficiaries compared to how much they would likely be earning if they had dropped out of school.Hatua's alumni are earning 4x the average income of youths who dropout of school.
