This project is planned to help 1000 orphans and vulnerable children in Kole get access to quality and sustainable Early Childhood Education. It entails activities of providing clean water, offering scholastic materials, buying school furniture, school uniforms, feeding, classrooms and toilet constructions, transportation as well as equipping teachers. The project offers opportunity to children age 3-14.
Kole, has the greatest number of families with children not attending school due to high level of poverty. Some parents and guardians also got traumatized and lost the desire to educate their children resulting from rebel abduction in schools who turned children in to wives and child soldiers. Majority of children who try to join school dropout as their guardians are too poor to support them and end up in early marriages, sexual abuses, drug addiction. The school has no enough facilities.
Providing all the necessities for education and comfortable environment encourages children to concentrate and yield good results as they have a stable mind. Better results motivate teachers to give much of their time and energy and pay much attention to the need of every child to ensure that they reach their potential. This project will also equip the teachers with basic knowledge and skills and other tactics of handling children to ensure maximum performances alongside motivations.
Ladder Ministries Uganda (LMU) has great hope that these children can lead a good and successful life in future when given access to quality education, with support and motivation. By teachers applying new approaches and techniques acquired through trainings attended in conducting their lessons will help improve educational standards.
