WInter is closing in on Kathmandu and for many of the children, too poor to buy a jacket themselves, we will, thanks to your donations and support soon be ordering in enough sweatshirts to provide one to each of them. We'll also be able to buy some good, warm blankets for the nursery. Many thanks to our supporters. As soon as we get the sweatshirts we will post up photos of them.
Christmas will be arriving early at Orchid Garden. Plans are still underway as well to see if we can't expand next year and provide grade two onsite. Our first graders are begging us to be able to continue to come to Orchid Garden and not have to attend the government school, which is really substandard. At OGN, with the positive support we get via Global Giving, we are able to hire really good and dedicated teachers and provide nutritious, hot meals. For these children it may be the only good meal they get each day and that's one of the big reasons they don't want to "graduate" from first grade and go off the government run schools who don't provide them with meals. Crossing our fingers that we can pull that off.
Thanks,
