Poverty and hunger prevent children from going to school and work as child labour. The situation is worse in rural areas. In view of this situation, we run a school for the underprivileged children at Belabahol village in Purulia district of India where all children are from underprivileged sections, most of whome work as child labours in agricultural firms. Object is not only to provide quality education but also to provide nutritional food, books etc thus creating a conducive learning environm
This project provides education, nutritional mid-day-meal, books, learning materials, school uniforms to 150 children from economically backward families within the age group of 6-16. Such children worked as child labours in agricultural firms. Mal nutrition limits development. Education with empty stomac is an impossibility often forcing children to go back as child labours. This project provides healthy nutition along with other necessary things required for providing education.
Every day, children receive nutritious mid-day-meal contributing to a healthy growth. This act as an added incentive to attend school. Books, learning materials, 2 sets of school uniforms in a year and a conducive learning atmosphere contribute to retention of these underlrivileged children in school, which in a broader aspect help to reduce child labour.
This project has the potential in mainstreaming underprivileged children . Their basic needs are met & they get new life through gaining knowledge, vocational skills & life skills. Education increase threir confidence level thus helping them to become assets of the community. Their physical & psychological development make them productive citizens of the country. Our philanthropy inspire them to show humanity towards the community.
