IN 2010 AN ESTIMATED ONE MILLION SECONDARY SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN WERE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL DUE TO FAILURE TO PAY SCHOOL FEES. 190 000 SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND 30% OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS DROP OUT OF SCHOOL EACH YEAR IN ZIMBABWE (SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN'S AND CHILDREN'S RIGHTS IN ZIMBABWE). 10 T0 15% OF CHILDREN HAVE NEVER ATTENDED PRIMARY SCHOOL AND ONLY 47% OF CHILDREN PROCEED TO SECONDARY SCHOOL. MASVINGO, MATEBELELAND AND MIDLANDS PROVINCES ARE THE WORST AFFECTED.
Funds raised will be used to identify those who dropped out and those who are at the verge of dropping out and ensure that their fees is paid and they are in school.
