Challenge

Kyaka II refugee settlement has about 27,000 refugees. 50% are the children, There are not enough schools to support education. 90% of children of 3-6 years have no access to early childhood education. About 3400 are out of school. The community needs more schools for the increasing population due to political instability in D. R. Congo. We have the target to put 800 children with 3-6 years back to school.

Solution

YIDA is constructing 3 Learning centers/school to educate 800 children by 2018.

Long-Term Impact

800 children will have access to quality education.
