The major aim of this project is to make the foundation of a permanent education institute where the organization's future would not be dependent on landlords and tenant fees.
Our vision is to create an educational center for disadvantaged children in Ghana. To achieve it, we need to secure a permanent building to run our projects. The financial insecurity that comes from renting has forced us to close programs or cut funding to programs vital to our community. Since 2007 the foundation has been renting and each year the challenge has been to meet the rent payments and ensure the needs of our community are met and the children have access to good education.
To sustain our operation for the Gbawe-children, we must ensure the stability of our operation. Therefore, instead of running the school on rented premises, we aim to build a school that provides educational and other necessary services such as youth programs, health education and educational and entrepreneur programs for adults. The Sustainable Educational Center project will be based on eco-friendly practices and will aim to involve the entire community of Gbawe.
With a permanent location that we own and are responsible for, we will provide an organization that is stable and reliable in our community. We will build an educational institution that provides a path out of poverty, increases the literacy rate, and encourages civic engagement by our community members.
