In school and so happy about it!
The third and final term of the Uganda school year is in full swing! Older students are preparing for exams that will determine how far they go in the education system. Your support gives them confidence that they can continue on - and they are giving it their best.
One confidence-building activity is to give children opportunity to speak on issues. We asked children this question: Who is responsible for change when things go wrong in society? Most believe that those who have a chance at education must give back by doing something to improve the community. They do service projects to help keep the very busy area around the school clean.
Brian says the government can help, he adds, "When I grow up, I will go and build technical schools for those who have not gone to school."
Irene says, "I will continue with my education so that in future I can help my mother. I think I will make that difference after going through school."
Annet is confident: "The young generation must stand out and stop all this to make a change. I think I can make that change or difference after going through school, because I will be educated and I will be capable of most things!"
We're so thankful for your support! Without you, these children would not be able to continue in school, and they wouldn't feel they ever had a chance to make a difference in this world.
When you make a donation to the TOUCH program, you give children confidence to believe they can overcome the challenges of poverty. You encourage dreams and empower these kids to take on the challenges around them!
Starting at 7am Naroibi time on October 9th (12:01am Eastern US time, or 9pm Oct 8th on the US West Coast), GlobalGiving is helping your donation to go even farther - with a 30% match. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to multiply your gift! There is $25,000 available in matching funds, and the project that has the most donors wins $1,000 bonus prizes from GlobalGIving!
Thank you for your help!
Going to school gives these guys confidence!
