Unemployment in the Eastern Cape, South Africa has just risen to 51%. In the face of such devastating statistics, the Ibhabhathane is employing 5 women who had no employment prior to the start of the organization. Not only are they earning an income to support their families but are creating a career path that holds the promise of a professional qualification in Early Childhood Education which will offer opportunities for them and their children.
Although we are receiving a government subsidy that covers half of our expenses, paying wages and stipends to the people who actually keep an organisation like ours running is challenging.
A caregiver at the Ibhabhathane Centre earns $120 per month. Your heartfelt giving can help us to offer a sense of security and a glimmer of hope to these women who are courageously walking a path in order to create a better life for themselves and their families.
We sincerely thank you for supporting the Ibhabhathane
