Lighting a candle for Tata Madiba's Birthday

The Ibhabhathane Community Centre has had the most
extroadinary 3 months! Despite no government funding the centre could still
continue paying wages to its staff members, take our children to their first
theatre production, which was absolutely wonderful and buy art materials to
continue our latest project; Pretty Things for Little Things. The last
mentioned project is engaging community members in sharing their skills with
the elderly in the village. During this exercise the participants are learning
to cut and sew aprons for our little ones, which is much needed during
deliciously messy art activities as well as making 35 book bags for library
books to go home on a weekly basis as part of a literature programme to
encourage our parents to read books to their toddlers.

A brand new gas oven and stove has add to our nutrition
programme significantly. We can now offer our children a variety of yummy baked
and cooked dishes. Our Friday cooking session has seen baked ‘clever cat
biscuits and cheerful cupcakes for Father’s Day.

Our progress and continual improvement on service delivery
is thanks to people like our Global Giving donors, who cares about the lives of children and
understands how important stimulation and nutrition are during these early
years of human development.

Please continue the good work. Don’t hesitate to donate, no matter how big or small
in order to help the Ibhabhathane build people’s capacity to discover their
potential.

Our sincere thanks for your generosity and support.
