Greetings from Ngoma Aid Foundation. I trust all our donors and friends had a fantastic festive season and are enjoying 2012. We at Ngoma Aid Foundation had a good festive season and YES, the New Year had a perfect start. Thank you all for your generosity, support and kindness.
The third term and promotional term of the year 2012 went well for all our girls in school. Both the ones in primary and secondary school progressed convincingly to the next class and they are now at school, committed to the challenge.
Christmas was particularly nice for the younger girls given that each one of them got a new dress and a pair of shoes for Christmas – a thing that brightened up their beautiful faces. Everyone of them went for the Christmas church service beaming with confidence and it reminded me of my earlier years and Christmas celebrations – new clothes, plenty of meat given that some families here eat meat only on big days and not for health reasons but simply because they cannot afford it.
I would like to report that our end of 2011 was a mixture of Joy and Uncertainty as to what 2012 would be like. Not that I worry a lot, but yes I do sometimes as the organisation Head given that it would be very difficult to explain to these young girls as to why they cannot make it to school just in case funding is a problem. It is HOPE that keeps us going at Ngoma Aid Foundation and indeed, while the worrying was going on, we received a BIG donation from our friend Charles on the 31/12/2011 and what a JOY it was to start the New Year in that style. Atleast, we were now sure that the girls would begin school as we look for their balances for school fees. We are very grateful for that Surprise Mr. Charles. Always keep us in your thoughts.
All the girls reported for the new school term at the end of January 2012 and are currently concentrating on their studies. I am happy to report that we will have two candidates seating for their End of Ordinary Level certificate of education (Uganda) at the end of the year. I also would like to report that we managed to get everyone’s school shopping list exhausted. The items on the list are nothing other than, exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets, Knickers, Pads for the older girls, reams of papers, etc.
While we were beginning to worry about the remaining fees for the girls, our friends Charles and Sonal, made yet another hefty donation – THANK YOU SO MUCH CHARLES & SONAL – and come April when the disbursements for February 2012 are effected, we are sure of putting all our school fees balances, house rent arrears, water and electricity bills to Zero. We will stock our food store as well.
Our challenge as of today is fundraising for the second and third school terms of the year. The two terms begin in May and September 2012 respectively. Still on donations and fundraising, I would like to thank Jessica Cishek for the monthly recurring donation that you have extended to us for over a year now. We at Ngoma Aid Foundation are very grateful indeed for your continued support.
Last but not least, allow me remind you all our friends, new and old donors that GlobalGiving will be matching all donations made on the coming Wednesday 14th March 2012 by 30%. The good news is that the organisation that gets the biggest amount on the day gets a $1000 BONUS and the organisation that gets the biggest number of donors on the day also gets a $1000 BONUS on top of matching all donations by 30% of the donation. The organisation that gets both the biggest amount of donation money and the biggest number of donors on the day will get a $2000 BONUS. Kindly help Ngoma Aid Foundation get the BONUSES of the day by donating early on the day and kindly advise your friends, relatives and workmates help us achieve our goal.
We do appreciate your support. Thank you for partnering with Ngoma Aid Foundation as we try to make the world a better place by moving one mountain at a time.
God Bless you and Happy 2012
