This project will provide street children with food to alleviate hunger and to mitigate their vulnerability to contagion to due lack of nutrition and food. the project plans to reach maximum number of street children as quickly as possible with face-mask, soap, sanitizer and wash facility and nutritious food to ensure they do not suffer amidst a pandemic which is already burdening vulnerable people the greatest. they will be awareness creation and prevention to street children.
COVID-19 means that the most vulnerable children are more at risk than ever. In Ethiopia reports show that over 150,000 people live on the streets of which most are children. The lack of access to sufficient clean water and lack of access to sanitary facilities makes good hygiene practices difficult for street children and Lack of food weakens the body's immune response and increase health vulnerabilities making them vulnerable to COVID-19. the need for education will be addressed in the project
This project will provide street children with food to alleviate hunger and create access to food at the nearest possible proximity and It will also provide sanitary facilities to the street children. once the pandemic restriction are over it plans to use a comprehensive approach to support the street children in transitional shelter where they rehabilitate and safely integrate back to their family and society. and integrate them back to the formal education.
the project aims to currently mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on street children. The project will support street children by ensuring they have a safe home, education and the psycho-social support they need for the bright future they deserve. The project aims at rehabilitation and reintegration of street children with more focus on education and vocational training to discourage children from returning to the streets.
