Challenge

Most people who live in remote rural areas have no access to education due to lack of funds. Some are segregated in communities because of their social status and they do not get assistance from ordinary citizens. Most of the poorest people are uneducated due to lack of education funds. In the event of lack of education funds, women and girls are turned into domestic workers, some face abuse and become victims of HIV/AIDS. The program will target the youths between ages of 7 - 24 years of age.

Solution

The project aims to educate the destitute in remote rural areas. Educating the disadvantaged especially women and girls will reduce their chances of abuse. Education is an empowerment tool which will open up employment opportunities and reduce vulnerability. Education reduces poverty, lowers maternal and infant mortality rates, helps protect against HIV/AIDS and increases chances on economic stability. Education also reduces social problems such as crime and violence against women and girls.

Long-Term Impact

Educating the poor especially youth will increase employment opportunities. Our complementary leadership program will equip the students for future leadership roles and train them as entrepreneurs. This will give our cadres opportunities to form businesses that will create employment opportunities. Our program will educate 100 people and in the long-term, our cadres will create sustainability projects in their local communities through the help of ACFE which helps to empower the community.
