The project will help teenagers who have been withdrawn from early marriage and child prostitution to educate them for a better and brighter future.
There are more than 200 teenage girls in Lukata rural, who are in early marriage and prostitution due to poverty. Most of them orphans, feel they are a burden to their guardians who are mostly grandparents, and decide to engage into prostitution by city men who pass by their village. They are exploited and robbed of their innocence. They return home with just enough money to buy one meal, not to mention the sexual transmitted diseases and pregnancies that follow the ordeal.
After much counseling and encouragement, we sponsor their education, provide them with clean water, improve their nutrition and medical assistance. With this opportunity we will educate more children and prevent others from being whisked off to marriage or destroying their innocence to prostitution.
The educated community will rise out of poverty and provide for their families. They will contribute greatly as our vision of them becoming nurses to the clinic we will build for them, teachers to educate younger generations, engineers will advance the construction of the community. When educated minds come together they will make a great impact in the community and surrounding areas, thus eradicating poverty in the rural community.
