Educate one Empower thousands, supports women into leadership positions, this campaign specifically generates funding to access higher education. This month the spotlight is on Lin Kham, a young Myanmar role model who aims to achieve education equality for migrant youth. Lin Kham is a dedicated change maker in the world of education for Myanmar migrants in Thailand. She needs financial support to finish her Ma in Social Science, so that she can improve educational access for migrants.
"Most women feel impassioned and motivated to take part in the struggle to gain human rights for people of Myanmar. However, they feel that without education they are pushed back into traditional roles that do not allow them the freedom and mobility to contribute to this struggle."
Young women often describe education as an opportunity to better position themselves to promote equality for people from Myanmar all around the world. The We women foundation promotes the education of ethnic women from marginalized communities in Myanmar. We target women whose passions, goals and motivations identify them as future leaders of Myanmar, so that they have the chance to take part in their human rights struggle and become influential members of their communities.
The long-term aim is to assist women from marginalized communities in Myanmar into obtaining positions of authority within policy making or influential organizations so that they then can empower other women and their communities, on their own terms.
