Dear Donors - I hope these photos are as rewarding for you to see as they are for me. Thanks only to your collective donations, a selection of children of raped women are now attending schools in Rwenena, Luberizi, and Kiliba - all in Fizi Territory, South Kivu, DR Congo. The photos here document AMCAV's distribution of uniforms, shoes, and backpacks to these kids.
Bernadette, AMCAV director, writes:
We thank everyone who has donated through GlobalGiving on behalf of these vulnerable children. If you look at the photos, you will see that the children are extremely proud to be attending school. Although these chiildren still face discrimination in their lives, donors have done much to improve them. Please keep in mind that there are still many other children who remain in need.
With this in mind, you might consider another donation today, October 19, as all donations up to $1,000 per donor will be matched at 30% while matching funds last. Bonus funds gone? No worries, the project can still use the money. Also available is the option of a recurring donation - even if it's just a few dollars a month. What a long way those dollars would go over there.
I am attaching a selection of photos to this update. AMCAV distributed uniforms, shoes, and backpacks to the children, and the photos document this process.
Finally, something to look forward to: A video with children's testimonials has been made, but we're still trying to figure out a way for folks in DRC to deliver it - the file is very large. So stay tuned.
Thanks and best wishes to all.
