Every girl deserves safety, education, and opportunity. This project empowers vulnerable Nigerian girls through mentorship, education sponsorship, and life-skills training, helping them break cycles of abuse, early marriage, and poverty to build a brighter, independent future.
In many rural and underserved communities across Nigeria, thousands of girls are denied access to education due to poverty, gender discrimination, insecurity, and cultural norms. Many are forced into early marriages or exploited through child labor and domestic servitude. Without education, these girls face a lifetime of vulnerability, dependence, and lost potential, continuing the cycle of poverty across generations.
EFI will identify, mentor, and support 300 vulnerable girls from rural communities in Nasarawa and Imo States through: Education Sponsorships - covering school fees, uniforms, books, and basic learning materials. Mentorship & Leadership Clubs - creating safe spaces where girls learn confidence, digital literacy, reproductive health, and advocacy skills. Community Awareness Campaigns - engaging parents, teachers, and community leaders to champion girls' rights and end early marriage practices.
This project will empower girls to complete their education, build self-esteem, and become agents of change in their communities. Educated girls are: 3 times less likely to marry before age 18. Twice as likely to raise healthy, educated children. More likely to contribute to family income and national development.
