Summary : The project will enable 900 children to celebrate the children’s day on 14th November to and also to pay tributes to our India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birthday.

About the children : As it is a special day for children the slum children are deprived of festivities at home.  This provided a gala celebration with all the eatables.  Amusement by listening to patriotic leaders during story narrations.  Built in personality of citizenship growth, cultural, traditional responsibilities towards their beloved mother country. As the proverb says, “Todays children are tomorrow’s citizens of the Country”.

RDOET IN ACTION : (RDOET) HAO India distributed chocolates, biscuits, sweets to each and every child.  They was a great interaction with applauds, cheers, dancing.  It was a enthusiastic crowd reaching to the distributed needs.

Children’s Day : Children’s Day is to celebrate “Childhood”.  Children are loved by one and all.  They win our hearts with their innocent smiles. On November 14th children’s day has been celebrated as “Children’s Day” in India.   India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14th November as he likes the children, this day is being celebrated as children’s day.  It is not just a day to let the future genertion have its say.  It is  a day to remember a leader who, in his quiet but determined way laid the foundation to convert a nascent nation into a world power.

After a child pinned a Rose Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru started wearing on his Shirt/Jacket.  The national children’s center, Jawahar Bal Bhavan is also named after Jawaharlal Nehru.  It is celebrated all over India especially at the School level. On that day children need not wear uniform.  Cultural programme, singing, sports competitions are held.  Children enjoy themselves on that day being a blessed childhood.

Children took active part in celebrations.  Competitions were held. Some of them won prizes.  Parents are also very happy to see their children participating in the celebration and are thankful to you for your generous support.

Dr. (Mrs). P. Usha Abraham, CEO, RDOET (HAO India).
