Summary

In 2013, Rechabite undertook educating orphans in Kinangop, Central Kenya, as one of its main pillars. To date, Rechabite has continued to offer quality education to orphans & vulnerable children as well and is currently seeking support to educate, feed, clothe and meet necessary needs for 44 children it has identified as orphans & vulnerable. This project seeks to change the lives of disadvantaged children through quality education, an opportunity for them to break out of extreme poverty.

Challenge

Over 5,000 Children in Nyandarua, Central Kenya, are orphans & vulnerable, with the number set to increase due to rising poverty levels, high cost of living & children orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS. Most of these children can't afford access to quality education, forcing them to have low school attendance rates & quite a number to drop out. This often leads them to indulge in drug & substance abuse, crime, prostitution among other societal vices that pose a risk to their lives.

Solution

Rechabite seeks to address the challenge by providing quality education and meeting the basic needs of 44 orphans & vulnerable children it as identified in Nyandarua, Central Kenya. This will entail provision of: quality education, a nutritious diet, clothing & shelter as well as a computer literacy program to equip the beneficiaries with basic IT skills. Your financial support will help build a successful future for these children, their immediate families & community at large.

Long-Term Impact

Nelson Mandela once said Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world. Rechabite acknowledges that for the 44 children it has identified as orphans & vulnerable, education is the way out of their poor backgrounds. Children are the world's most valuable resource and the best hope for the future! By enabling them access quality education & meeting their basic needs, we'll empower them towards achieving personal aspirations and in the long run achieve economic growth.
