THE JOURNEY SO FAR.
WEEF Scholarship Board received 80 applications with respect to the project. We had our team carryout a thorough vetting of each application to determine genuine beneficiaries. Forty five (45) applications were identified to have meet the required conditions by the Board.

FIRST BATCH
In the first batch of beneficiaries for the WEEF Scholarship project, we enrolled a total of nine (9) students at Zibeh Institute of Technology for a two year National Innovative Diploma program in October 2019. This was due to the funds available to us. Amongst the students enrolled, we had two (2) studying Networking and Systems Security, four (4) in Computer Software Engineering department and three (3) in Digital Multimedia Technology department. We hope to enroll at least thirty one (31) more in the second batch by February 2020.

SECOND BATCH
In February 2020, we enrolled thirteen (13) more students at Zibeh Institute of Technology making a total of twenty two (22). The gender breakdown is as follows; 13 male and 9 female. Of the 22 students enrolled so far, 12 are studying Digital Multimedia Technology, 2 studying Networking and System Security and 8 are studying Software Engineering.
Due to the corona virus outbreak, all schools have been shut down in Nigeria. But the Institute where our beneficiaries are enrolled have been able to continue teaching using an online system as mandated by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

WEEF MISSION & VISION STATEMENT

VISION: To reduce the daunting poverty amongst widows and the less privileged through economic empowerment.

MISSION: WEEF would work towards empowering Widows, their wards and the less privileged adolescents so they can realize their fullest potentials through various forms of assistance, ranging from technical skills provision to financial and material support.

WEEF ACTIVITIES

Though the organisation targets widows, their wards and other underprivileged persons. WEEF programmes also cover other disadvantaged women and girls. The activities we have carried out since inception in 2008 include provision of skills, advocacy, material and equipment donation to widows, girls and the less privilege in the society to improve their purchasing power devoid of negative vices that they are exposed to due to exploitation. For the past three years, our core projects have been providing professional training to beneficiaries in Multimedia Technology, Software Engineering, Networking and System Security and Computer Hardware Engineering. Our sources of funds has been contributions from the board of trustees, family and friends.

PROJECT GOALS

1. To educate 40 widows, their wards and vulnerable children in Jos, Nigeria.

2. Beneficiaries would have rediscovered themselves to the extent that they would be more productive and self-reliant. Consequently, they would be able to earn from their entrepreneurial effort.

3. To produce techpreneurs in the form of Computer Technicians, Software Developers, Network Administrators and Media Personnel.
