Dear Friends!
We are excited to let you know that we have brought on board our next class of Komera Scholars! We are particularly excited to let you know that we were able to provide scholarships to 22 new Komera Scholars. Your support enabled us to add two more girls and ensure that they get the support that they so desperately need. Their lives are changed because of you.
The scholars were selected by the local village chiefs, local school principals, local government authorities, and the Komera Project social worker. The candidates all have exceptional grades and are extremely vulnerable, thus Komera being the only way that they are able to attend school. I believe that we were able to initiate a phenomenal class of Komera Scholars and I am excited to meet them!
Over the next three years, the girls will not only be attending school but they will also be receiving a complete package of services that will ensure that they stay in school and are prepared for the job market or tertiary education. Their support will include school-based mentorship, social entrepreneurship training, and leadership development. They will all participate in the Global Run for Girls Education on June 26th! Will you?
I will continue to provide you with updates on the Komera Scholars as the year progresses. In the meantime, I hope you can join the movement to run for Girls' Education on June 26th and take action for Girls! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again!
SIncerely,
Margaret Butler
