Quarterly Report

Many children!
Many children!

Dear Global Giving Friends and Donors,

Sorry for the late report, but I just returned from a fantastic site visit to our projects in Uganda. Along with two other volunteers, we visited our Rayland Rural Development Project and all of the small groups associated with the project. Everyone is doing amazing work with very little. We continue to support childrem, mostly orphaned or other vulnerable children, including child headed households, widows, a very empowered group of disabled people and the old and alone.

The activities of the members include:

  • home based care and counseling
  • referral to health clinics as needed
  • micro-financing
  • distributing goats for milk and for income generating activity
  • monthly meetings to continue eduation in Long Term Survival Skills for HIV/AIDS
  • training in mother to child prevention of HIV/AIDS (PMTC)
  • vocational training in tailoring, baking and hair dressing
  • supporting orphand and other vulnerable children in school and with nutrition
  • distributed seeds to widows for kitchen gardens
  • care for the sick
  • follow up drug compliance for those on ARV
  • dig and protect new wells
  • mainstream people with disabilities and HIV
  • bought 200 chairs and some tents to rent out for events for income generation for disabled group members
  • trained PWD (people with disabilities) in music performance for pay!

Thank you! We had a great visit and are so grateful for your help.

Jaya
