Challenge

The Super Cyclone Fani had totally ruined the economy of the target area and destructed the livelihood of lakhs of people. The standing crops in the thousand acres of land have been totally damaged. The loss of standing crops has caused huge economic loss to the poor farmers. The poor people had been reduced to the stage of destitute. As they have no livelihood security they live in extreme poverty. There is an urgent need to launch an economic rehabilitation programme for the cyclone victims.

Solution

Financial Assistance for goatery and poultry will benefit 100 cyclone affected poor families. Financial Assistance to 100 farmers for next agricultural crop will benefit 100 poor farmers who had lost their standing vegetable and Betelvine crop in the cyclone. As such, financial assistance for poultry, goatery and farming will benefit 200 x 5 = 1000 cyclone affected poor villagers. They are the poorest of the poor having no source of income.

Long-Term Impact

The activities of the project will be followed-up and sustained by the beneficiaries themselves in active help and collaboration of the applicant NGO. Beneficiaries' committees will be formed for each of the programme of the project. The beneficiaries' committees will look after the follow-up of the programmes. However, the financial sustainability of the project will be achieved through raising funds from the local community and also by way of taking-up different innovative fund raising program
