Challenge

We face, youth who seems sad, apathetic, who does not think about future, who tries to find meaning in his immediate life, tries to survive today, but finds no meaning in the world that our culture offers. Young people face a highly competitive society, exclusion is the rule of the game, young people are 3 times more likely than adults to be unemployed. "One third of the important skills in today's economy will have changed by the year 2020" UNDP Report 2016. Plus a local high rate crime factor

Solution

Drawing For Visionaries is a proven method created by Alicia Wiechers during her 35 years experience of teaching children and adults. DFV provides young people with tools that enable them to observe, to reflect, to discern and to respond to the world they live in. Learning to Draw will be the result, and also the medium, which will encourage Attention, Imagination, Discernment, Divergent and Creative Thinking.

Long-Term Impact

The project will address 50 young teachers in training, the first year. Once completed the production of the digital material (videos) that will lower the cost, will enable us to impart this workshop in an easier way to more young people the following year. The group of 50 young people who will be taught this workshop, the first year, is a training school for teachers of basic education, we trust that by receiving this knowledge they will transmit it, in various ways, to their future alumni.
