Sundarbans coastal region of Bangladesh is in the front line of global climate change. People of this region face a number of natural disasters over the year. Sometimes, massive disasters occur in this region that demolishes coastal life and livelihoods. In the recent past, few massive disasters took place in the region like Sidr, Aila, Amphan etc. Among them, Amphan caused huge loss to the coastal people (uncountable households destroyed, trees uprooted, embankments damaged).
BEDS provided emergency relief support to 150 coastal families with the help of GlobalGiving. Victim families also get rehabilitation support for sewing and farming activity. Our supported families are trying to recover from their loss and damage. We are in regular touch with the affected people and providing advice and motivation to them where necessary. But they still need support to recover from the damage. But currently we are unable to provide those people with direct support as we have no fund available right now.
So, we are requesting all our donors to come forward for the aid of those victim people. We hope that all our donors will start monthly recurring donation for the helpless, Amphan affected and disaster vulnerable people.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
