We must raise $22,000 in contributions so that in July 2018, we can visit orphanages in all 9 departments (states) in Bolivia. As we have done for the past 49 years of our existence, we go to each orphanage, receive their wish list of need items, go onto the local market and purchase the needed items up to the limit of our budge. We deliver in person the needed items to the respective orphanage. July and August are the Winter months south of the Equator. Altitudes are 3,000-15,000 feet !!!
The Orphaned and Abandoned Children in Bolivia have nothing. The government has no money for these children. Poverty is normal for most of the people in Bolivia, so little attention is paid to these children in need. For the past 49 years we have tried to help these children to make their lives just a little bit more enjoyable. Many of them have grown up to be productive and energetic participants of their own country.
We do not pretend that we are the solution to unending poverty. Our goal is just to alleviate the unhappiness and stress that extreme poverty brings to the lives of Orphaned and Abandoned Children in Bolivia. On the local market in Bolivia our little money goes a long way to supply some of the basic items of life, like shoes, bedding, cooking utensils, school supplies, and medicine. Most people in Bolivia only have dirt. The government provides no real support, so we are the only ones to help.
Over the past 49 years of our work we have seen countless children grow up to be strong, energetic, and productive citizens of Bolivia. These young adults do not need to immigrate to the United States nor to become a burden to other countries. They stay in Bolivia to help build a better future for all the citizens of Bolivia.
