Dogtoberfest 2012
We just had a successful and fun Dogtoberfest event on October 13th at Dakota dog park. We had many happy vendors and visitors to our event. After a few hiccups with the lure course equipment, we were off and running many excited and happy dogs. Our costume contest was the highlight of the event. Contest entrants included a shark, a football player, a "chocolate" lab, a headless horseman, and many others. "Bubble Gum" the corgi mix won the best trick contest with his dancing.
Several raffle winners walked off with some great prizes. Among the prizes was a $50 gift card from Natural Pet Northwest, a two night stay at a Best Western Hotel, free dog bathing and grooming coupons, and many other exciting prizes. The kids enjoyed the spinning wheel for chances at some fun prizes and many people purchased DogPaw apparel and other merchandise.
At the conclusion of the event we had gained another 35 members and a handful of new volunteers. A very successful day all around.
Lure Coursing
November 3rd was our last scheduled day for lure courses this year. This lure course and membership drive raised nearly $400 for our organization. The weather was perfect for the event and we made many dogs very happy and very tired; which made their owners very happy.
