We want that 50 women with cancer in Baja California feel accompanied in their disease to live the process with quality of life, for which we will provide psycho-emotional and nutritional assistance, second opinion consultations, advice on oncoimaging, turbans, lymphedema sleeves and personalized council, oncological bras and breast prostheses, so that they can not only cope better with the disease but also reduce the risk of sequels.
In Baja California, the oncological units of Mexicali and Tijuana receive more than 4000 women with cancer during the year, most with breast cancer. The women who suffer from it need in addition to medical treatment, support services and specialized supplies that allow them to improve their quality of life and self-esteem in order to carry out the disease in a more dignified and comfortable way.
When a woman has breast cancer she faces several duels that affect her self-image and self-esteem: hair loss, swelling in the arm (lymphedema), amputation of one or both breasts; In addition to the loss of health, which must be addressed specifically. Giving them turbans, breast prostheses, lymphedema sleeves and specialized advice strengthens their self-esteem and allows them to gradually accept their new body and reality with love and dignity.
