We are putting computers and internet access into the orphanages and institutionalized homes in Japan. This is for the children in the homes to have access to learning tools despite their location or means. We will assist the children earlier than later by providing career aptitude tests in order for them to focus on career possibilities. Mentoring will be provided whether the child is college bound or employment bound. With the ultimate goal of helping the child be employable at 18.
Most children have little (only 5%) access to technology. Enriching and enabling these children through access to the Internet and its tools is a world opener for many of these children. Recent statistics show that only 9% of kids from children's home attend university, compared to a national average of 50%. Having choice is so important in life. Our core focus during 2014 is to develop a 1 to 1 laptop/tablet program program with a Cloud based ecosystem to enrich and enable the children we serve
We feel that with access to the internet and having their own PC, they will benefit from content provided online as a platform for 21st century learning. By understanding possibilities career wise, they will be able to fulfill their dreams starting at an earlier age.
Japan has a shrinking society and by having more people over 65 per capita in the world and less under 15 per capita in the world, the need for all youth in Japan to have employable skills is not only a must but a requirement where every young person should be "firing on all cylinders".
