A new school year as brought Washington, DC it's largest corps of AmeriCorps Members ever - 169 serving in 16 schools! With their help, and yours, we've been able to start the new school year strong with three successful service days since the end of August that engaged over 430 volunteers in over 1,000 hours of service donated to communities across DC.
Highlights from our recent service days include:
And that's just the beginning! Our corps is hard at work preparing for Make a Difference Day, to be held Saturday, October 24th at Amidon-Bowen Elementary. This and other service days throughout the fall lead up to our biggest service day or the year - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
