A trainee admires GCA's mushroom production effort
After a while of suspense due to lack of means Green Care Association (GCA) in the month of June organized mushroom cultivation training to interested community members. Fifteen persons participated in the intensive training. At the end, the trainees pledged to become mushroom farmers. As part of the training participants were taken to GCA demonstration farm for a ‘seeing believes’ and question and answer session. This motivated the participants so much that they all decided to buy fresh as well and dried mushrooms. It was after the training that one of the participants (Sylvester) promised he is going to set up his farm soon. He reiterated that ‘even if Green Care Association at some point will surrender mushroom cultivation, I am going to keep on the cultivation and where possible involve more young people’. We are thankful for the many donations from Global Giving Friends who have helped to improve the lives of many. We at GCA are determined to continue to assisting our communities.
