We provide free attendance to our experiential learning conference for students ages 13-18 that are eligible for free lunch through their schools. These students will be able to participate for free as a result of your donations. Each student will receive a tablet device with admission to the conference where they learn about career opportunities in STEAM and 21st century workforce skills. These students remain within our online community to continue learning past the conference.
Students are coming out of college over extended financially and challenged with finding employment. Employers are challenged with filling the highly skilled Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM) careers. In addition, many schools do not have the resources to introduce students to the constantly evolving world of technology and the careers the are emerging.
Students will engage in an experiential learning program blending competencies in 21st century workforce skills with awareness of STEAM careers. Topics integrated into the 5-day experience will be, the Value of Lifelong Learning; Problem Solving; Self-Management; Teamwork; Collaboration On- and Offline; Information Media and Technology; and Life and Career Skills. Technology and industry leaders will lead the workshops, giving firsthand information about the opportunities available to students.
Students will stay connected to a broad community and continue to support their career journey, sharing their success and experiences with new community members. Students will enter a workforce where they hunger for continued knowledge in higher education programs and will drive innovation to sustain our workforce of the future. Teaching students and parents what it means to be a lifelong learner and demonstrating the value in career and life success will result in lifelong success.
