The Global Oncology (GO) Cancer Education Materials (CEM) Program made great progress this year, and we have you to thank for this opportunity to help patients, caregivers and providers worldwide to access vital education about cancer.
GO's CEM are now in 4 of 9 cancer centers in Nigeria, and 3 of 6 cancer centers in Botswana
We produced and posted 7 new translations, reaching 3 new countries
We improved the CEM online access portal, leading to downloads from 23 countries across the globe
We launched our biannual partner engagement survey and are now learning more about how the CEM booklets are being used by patients and providers on the ground
Read what doctors, nurses and patients at two GO sites in Uganda are saying about our cancer education booklet:
“Thank you for saving our lives.”
“This book gives us hope.”
“I thought cancer cannot be treated.”
“Machines treat cancer? They told me herbs treat cancer.”
“I would have paid for it if you were selling it.”
“Myths about cancer treatment will be reduced.”
“Since the book is already loved, many people will request for more.”
“We hope that with knowledge from this book, we will reduce the risk of cancer.”
“Health-seeking behavior for cancer treatment and management will increase.”
“The ‘Cancer And You’ booklet is a breakthrough in cancer awareness raising in [our] community.”
Please consider a year-end gift to further this much needed cancer education initiative. Thank you, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!
With our deepest gratitude, The GO Team
