This project will renovate dilapidated 6 classroom structure, build toilets, put educational facilities such as desks, chairs and tables to provide enabling environment for 2000 pupils in Umu-olo rural community of Opi town, eastern Nigeria. Also, build a standard computer lab. and equip it with twenty desktop computers, Install solar system panel to generate power.
Umu-olo community is suffering serious deprivation of basic life needs, such as education from government. The only primary school is characterized by very poor infrastructure and lack of facilities, ranging from broken classroom walls, to open roofs, damaged chalk board, over population and lack of desks, chairs and tables in classes, bushy environment that houses reptiles. This project will help 2000 pupils to study in an enabling environment to realize their potentials.
JHF Renovates block of 6 classrooms, provides seats, chairs and tables- the children will have conducive environment and teachers having tables will make them comfortable to teach the children well. Computer lab. will expose children to new technology. Building toilet will stop open defecation. Water facilities will encourage cleanliness. Creating awareness to the community will enhance knowledge of benefits of child education to both parents and community at large.
1. The project will bring better education to 2000 rural children to break through the poverty cycle, permit them to pursue healthier opportunities, help support their families and build a better community. 2. Parents and community leaders will have feeling of inclusiveness to the society, this will bring peaceful co-existence and love between rural communities, local and state governments, and the nation. 3. Retention of children in school especially when they reach higher classes.
