Special appeal

By Stella Amojong | Director

Dear GEMINI supporter,

I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your continued support throughout this year. With your donations, we have been able to strengthen community involvement in discussing gender-based violence and opening up space for dialogue between spouses.

With your support, we have been able to engage at-risk families, providing trauma counseling, outreach campaign and psychosocial integration.

Last month, we were able to conduct house-to-house sessions that equipped abused women with self-confidence skills and linked them with faith-based initiatives and generally bridged the gap for increased communication between local initiatives that campaign against gender-based violence.

“I know its going to be a long journey but am convinced with such a start, we will eventually break the barriers that make violence acceptable,” says Ruth, a participant in the healing sessions.

I’m personally writing to thank you profusely for your previous support. No matter the size of your donation, we are so grateful for your continued support.

As the festive seasons approach, we are worried that cases of domestic violence might increase and jeopardize all the progress we had achieved. With your support, we will strengthen our outreach campaign and increase community participation that will prevent further domestic abuse.

Once again, thank you so much for your continuous vote of confidence and keep up those comments!
