Due to the global pandemic of Coronavirus/Covid 19 we are seeing an emerging health crisis in the rural communities we serve in West Africa. We want to deliver a rapid response to local communities in crisis, with education and hand washing facilities
Due to the global pandemic of Coronavirus/Covid 19 we are seeing an emerging health crisis in the rural communities we serve in West Africa The risk COVID19 presents to rural communities in Africa is enormous. A lack of testing facilities, immature health infrastructure and lack of trained medical staff will all allow this virus to spread and impact on children could be catastrophic.
Our Covid 19 Emergency Response Action Plan: In collaboration with community leaders, set up and maintaining handwashing stations in 40 remote rural villages Providing soap ( for as long as supplies last) to 40 rural villages to use at the handwashing stations Reaching remote rural villages with public health messages on the importance of hygiene and sanitation, especially focused
At Village by Village we know hand washing, for over 10 years we've been delivering sanitation education projects in rural schools in Ghana West Africa. We provide education around the importance of hand washing. We empower children to wash their hands after they go to the toilet and before they eat. This project will allow rural communities to wash their hand during this crisis as well as embedding the importance of sanitation for their long-term health
