Cooking Workshop for Infertile Patients in Israel

by CHEN - Patient Fertility Association

Fertility treatments can last months and even years until the women conceive. The frustration and difficulties of long fertility treatments made the treatments as a treatment for chronic disease. Another high level problem is the shyness of the problem. To overcome the physical and emotional treatment we decided on a cooking workshop that creates a self support group. While cooking for 4 hours we talk and the patients feels better and that they are not alone.

Infertile patients are ashamed and shy about the situation they in. It seems that everyone can conceive so why we cannot. Israel is a state of fertility that increased the couples shame and shyness. To come to the clinics for a support group is not likely for most of the patients but to come to a cooking workshop is different and the success rate of conceiving is 41% when the national rate is about 25%.

The project solved the problem of shyness and shame since patients, even men find it easier and they can talk with other men in the same situation without fear.

Long-Term Impact

The long term effects of the project is - patient conceived. and become happy family.
