This project will empower 30 widows with hands on skills/practical skills who come from the poorest families in kihara cell nyamwamba division kasese municipality-uganda. This project will train widows in cookery and also supply catering equipment to them. The skills widows will acquire and catering equipment supply will help them to start their own catering business centres for self reliance and for future sustainability
The recent drought in Kihara cell Kasese Municipality left many people in a difficult situation of hunger, poverty and some of these people are widows who lost their husbands in war, in car accidents, and of cancer disease. The target group depends on agriculture as their source of income and yet seasons do not do well for a sustainable harvest due to long drought. The project will empower them with hands on skills that will help them to start their own catering business centres.
Training widows in cookery and supplying them with catering equipment will help widows get out of hunger and poverty. Because widows will acquire skills in cookery that will help them to start their own catering business canters like bakery business centre, tea business centres; these catering business centres will act as self income generating activities.
The project will train 30 widows and will gain skills that they will use to rise out of hunger and poverty, the project will provide them with catering equipment that is estimated to last for minimum of 7 (seven) years and this period of time they will have realized back costs and profits. Since it is long term project, there is continuous income hence high income multiplier effect to the widows.
