Challenge

Malaria has been a major public health problem in Odisha & contributes about 16% of the total malaria cases of country with 35.80% of cases and over 12.90% of deaths due to Malaria. People of Angul district suffer a lot due to the vector-borne diseases; especially dengue and malaria. It poses a formidable challenge to Malaria control operations in the state. The proposed project is designed to Control of Malaria cases to 1165 families of Hanumanpur Gram Panchayat in Angul district.

Solution

Vector-borne diseases are highly preventable in nature, and the personal protection measures can be practiced with less cost and cost effective. So, it would be useful if people use long-lasting insecticide treated nets LLINsare used throughout the world at present and proved to be more effective. We shall prefer to complete the training and distribution of LLINs before the onset of monsoons. Then, for rest of the project period we shall do more monitoring and less distribution of LLINs.

Long-Term Impact

LLIN cost Rs.365/- only so by giving one INR every day for a Year anybody can save a poor family from vector borne diseases Social mobilization should be focused up on strengthening the management capacities of the community so they can collectively manage the operations without any outside support. Local government all agencies can also take over projects as another way of sustaining the work or Corporate sectors can seek funding under CSR activities for another few years.
