The community in Lunya have been forgotten by the very leaders that people trusted. They have no school, no clean water and no electricity. Kiwonnongo Foundation took initiative to establish St Jerome Emilian Academy. The school and the community uses contaminated water for their daily use. They walk about 4 km to get drinking water. Please help us drop a borehole for this community unity of 600 families and more than 300 Sch age children. Courtesy of Kiwonnongo Foundation.
300 Sch children walk 4 km to obtain clean water. They miss classes and this leads to bad grades and dropping out school. Lunya illiteracy rate is 98% and poverty level of very high. This target community needs your help as Kiwonnongo Foundation plans to help the community through education of children, youth and women programs. This will establish a supporting system with the three community pillars and lead to self sustaining life style.
When the bore hole is drilled at school/community level, children will not miss classes, won't walk long distances and diseases from contaminated water shall be eliminated. Children and women shall concentrate on what is more important in their lives ( enlightenment and education). The youth shall initiate projects for self reliance and elimination of poverty.
Long term impact ; providing clean water to 600 families, 300 school children and better health. This will improve school attendance thus decreasing the illiteracy rates and children shall graduate, initiate money generating projects and develop their own communities to a self sustained entity.
