The project is going to be implanted at the public school of Goue which does not have a latrine thus obliging pupils as teachers to defecate in the open air. To overcome this situation, two blocks of three latrines will be built, the school will be equipped with lava hands, all supported by an awareness campaign on hygiene and sanitation. The project aims to reduce the high rate of infection-related abandonment.
The lack of school latrines causes 433 students to defecate in the open air. In addition, the non-use of lava hands after defecation has the immediate consequences of infections related to dirty hands. The problem identified is the lack of latrines and non-compliance with basic hygiene standards such as hand washing after defecation and before meals.
The project will solve the problem through the following complementary actions: - The construction of two blocks of school latrines - The endowment of the school of lava hands, kettles, soaps, futs. - The training of the teaching staff on hygiene and sanitation - - The conduct of an awareness campaign at the address of the 433 students
In the long term the project will reduce the cases of diseases related to lack of hygiene and thus will contribute to reduce the rate of absenteeism of the pupils of the primary school of Goue.
