Map of ELDORET ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION Due to the climate change in the country and the effects of global warming that has led to starvation and lose of life in the region that being women and children. This is due to the deforestation that has seen happening in the region. Due to this city life launched a program in Eldoret and its environs of tree planting in the town and in the outskirt. This is so as to crate the forest cover that had been depleted by the high rate of deforestation and logging in the country. Read more.

Reclaiming The Forest

Map of Reclaiming the forest My name is Edwin Otunga. I come from Shitaho an area bordering Kakamega Forest.Over the past years, our forest has been reducing in size due to encrachment by human beings to get timber and also get land for settlement and farming. In abid to save our forest from diminishing, Greenbelt Movement a non- governmental organization has been on the forefront implementing policies to reclaim it.It has organized afforestation and re-afforestation programmes which have seen many trees being planted .it also initiated a project dubbed as 'cut 1, plant two' which required that if anyone was to cut any tree he was supposed to plant two others at the same time.The forest is slowly being recovered and the move is really encouraging , at the same time bringing hope to the future. Wanton Farming

Map of Wanton Farming The forest farmers in Western Kenya are reaping from the harvesting of Sawn wood.Moat plants from transmission poles are operating below capacity due to shortage of semi processed poles.A farmer said that the attractive prices have motivated many to enter into commercial tree planting at the same time he called for a clear environmental policy top avert massive desertification as a result of Wanton deforestation.
